Native Gardens
The Eagle Theatre
208 Vine St Hammonton
Well-intentioned neighbors quickly grow into feuding enemies in this new flower-flinging romp coming to the stage in Hammonton. When an up-and-coming Latino couple purchases a home beside the prize-winning garden of a prominent Washington, D.C. family, conflicts over fences and flora spiral into territorial turmoil, exposing both couples' deeply rooted notions of race, taste, class and privilege. Blooming with wit and poignancy, Mexican-American playwright Karen ZacarÃas pushes the boundaries and shatters biases one laugh at a time in Eagle Theatre's rendition of this shear-sharp modern comedy.
